Originally, the homeowner planned on installing a new microwave themselves but wanted to hire someone to vent it to the outside. Before I took the old vent hood down, there were basically three strikes against "easy" venting: This is not an outside wall, there's a second story above the kitchen, and the cabinets go to the ceiling. However, the other thing they wanted, a receptacle, was entirely doable.
Installing new receptacles is a common task. In this case, the homeowner simply wanted a receptacle installed in the lower right-hand corner of the upper wall cabinet.
