It seems like no matter how careful you are with your prop, eventually it somehow gets nicked. Even small chips out of a prop blade can create an imbalance, generating vibrations at high RPMs that can do costly damage to an outboard motor. It's best to repair or replace such a prop as soon as possible.

Paying someone to repair a prop can get expensive, and replacing props, even more so. If you have the skill, repairing your own prop might be the way to go. Plus, you can do it after hours, on the weekend, or in places where distance to a marina is a factor.

You'll need an aluminum brazing rod, like
HTS-2000. This stuff is expensive, but amazing! It works unbelievably well, and it's versatile, meaning it has tons of other applications....
